When Saturn Shows up in the Coffee Shop
with sidekick Neptune and the matrix reveals the deepest truths.
You won’t believe what happened…..
Saturn entered into Aries while I slept last night. I dreamed of an older woman wearing a youthful flirty red dress, and I dreamed of meeting a man in a coffee shop and giving him my phone number
The red color -- Aries. The older woman, Saturn. Some version of the Aries sun in me, I suppose. I am 63, after all. The man in the coffee shop?
It was busy this Sunday morning at Waves, a local chain, and as I waited for my matcha latte order I found a seat at a large rectangular table across from from a very old man.
He was staring at me with crystal clear blue eyes, so I said something fashionably civil, like, “How are you today?”
“You’re awfully brave to sit across from a weird old guy like me” he replied with the warble and pitch of a worn out voice box.
I laughed out loud, told him he did not seem weird at all, and for the next ninety minutes my laptop remained closed.
This was Saturn speaking, the Senex in the guise of 94 year old Steve. He wasn’t interested in chatting about the weather.
Instead, in a conversation lead by him, we went straight to God, the meaning of life, fate versus free will, quantum physics, the assertion that everything is conscious (as in rocks are award) and the piece de resistance: His personal theory of reality.
Apparently there are four stages of personal development with Scholar, Mystic and Monk at the top in ascending order— and I think he said food consumer at the bottom. I asked him, by the by, what he did for a living back in the day. Longshoreman. Mechanic. Part time mystic.
The God stuff in our chat is not necessarily, Saturnian. But with mystical Neptune sitting right beside Saturn in Aries right now, this was the merger of these two. Saturn has dominion over sagacity and old age (and the two are rarely paired) and Neptune adds the magical and the spiritual.
“Nothing is random,” said Steve. “I don’t normally come to this place at this time of day, I am here because I was meant to meet you.”
Funny enough, it started with his admission he was slightly hard of hearing and me digging up the address of my ear-wax removal doctor for him. By the end of our lively conversation on all things meaningful, we had exchanged phone numbers just like in dream, with the variation being a 40 year old version of himself in the nocturnal premonition. And frankly, though he admitted he was increasingly less able to apply logic or remember everything, it was more or less like talking to a 40 something year old.
He also told me about how he likes to spread the vibe, dropping photocopies of an 8 x 11 message everywhere he goes. Here’s that message.
Somedays, I forget that the universe/God is aways speaking, it’s just that I am not always listening.
I was not supposed to be at this coffee shop today either — I had planned to work from my girlfriends home next door while the open-house happened at my place (for sale by my landlord). But at the last minute, I decided to head out after all.
It seems now, with Saturn in my natal 3rd whole sign house of the neighbourhood local venues carry a whole new heft of Lord of Time And Karma weight. Add Neptune, and you get magical intersections like today.
Here’s Steve, by the way!
